About Us

Rooted in Kanab Since 1994

Since 1994, Willow Canyon Outdoor has been a part of the Kanab community, bringing together locals, travelers, and people who share an appreciation for the incredible landscapes that surround us. Charlie Neumann and Susan Hand spent nearly three decades building Willow into something special, creating a place that became much more than just a business.  In 2024, longtime local guides Kieran Corrigan and Melanie Rader took ownership, building on Charlie and Susan and bringing their own experiences and perspectives to Willow.

Who We Are

Kieran and Melanie met while guiding in the Grand Staircase and have spent much of their lives exploring the Colorado Plateau and the greater Southwest. Melanie is an accomplished ultrarunner, wilderness guide, member of Kane County’s swiftwater rescue, Hasty team, and High Angle Ropes Rescue Team.  who has spent countless hours traveling through some of the most remote parts of the region. Kieran's background includes climbing, canyoneering, rafting, photography, and wilderness guiding, all of which have contributed to a lasting interest in the landscapes and natural history of the Southwest.

Between the two of us, we've spent a lot of time in the backcountry and have come to appreciate that the best part of being out there isn't always the destination. It's what you learn, the people you meet, and the experiences you bring home.

What We Believe

We care deeply about this community, the public lands that surround it, and the people who come here to experience them. We believe that access to public lands, responsible recreation, conservation, and a strong local community are worth investing in and protecting. Having spent years working in outdoor recreation, we understand how important these places are, not just for those who visit, but for the people who live and work here. We want to encourage curiosity, share what we've learned, and help others develop their own connection to the outdoors.

Looking Forward

Our goal is simple: to carry forward what has made Willow special for more than 30 years while allowing it to grow and evolve alongside the community.

More than anything, we want Willow to remain a welcoming place where people can connect, share stories, learn something new, and find a little inspiration for whatever adventure comes next. Whether you've lived in Kanab your whole life or are just passing through, we hope Willow feels like a place you belong.
